Job description: Job Description:This position reports to the Area Manager-Vessel. While the FPSO is connected to the mooring system you will oversee control systems in the central control room. While the FPSO is disconnected from its moorings, you will maintain a navigational bridge watch. During the first six months, the main focus will be learning the deck layout and permit system to create a foundation to assist with a smooth transition into the role.In our recruitment and hiring process at Wood Canada Ltd.   • Monitor and control various FPSO systems
  • Operate the thruster assisted positioning mooring system and ensure stability criteria is met using NAPA software
  • Conduct cargo calculations, ensuring required data is documented
  • Responsible for cargo and ballast operations, along with distribution and control of inert gas to cargo and ballast tanks
  • Perform crude oil washing operations
  • Oversee shuttle tanker operators during cargo transfers
  • Observe collision avoidance procedures (i.e. radar monitoring) and maintain awareness and control of field traffic movements
  • Operate control center room telecommunications with standby vessels, shuttle tankers, vessel operators, crane operators, and maintenance crews

Other Key Details:

  • This position has been identified as safety sensitive
  • The shift schedule is a 21 days on/ 21 days off rotation
  • You will work 12-hour shifts in a harsh offshore environment on a moving facility
  • Prior to offshore travel, you will satisfy and maintain mandatory industry training standards
  • Qualified residents of the province of Newfoundland and Labrador will be given first consideration in the staffing of this position
  • Pay rate in accordance with Appendix E of the Collective Agreement between Terra Nova Employers’ Organization and Unifor Local 2121
  • This position will remain open for applicants until March 31st, 2024

Qualifications:

  • Marine and offshore industry experience; Preferably 3-5 years related experience
  • Familiar with computerized maintenance management systems such as SAP S4
  • Effective communication skills (written, oral and computer)
  • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork behaviors
  • Ability to understand and react with diverse groups and operations and work closely with other individuals in a remote setting
  • Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) Certificate of Proficiency
  • Watch Keeping Mate (WKM) Certification
  • Oil Tanker Endorsement Level 2
  • Dynamic Positioning Training
  • General Operators Certificate for Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS)
  • Able to complete/clear an offshore medical and drug and alcohol testing

For this position, the following training / certifications would be considered and asset:

  • Basic Survival Training (BST) including HUET and HUEBA
  • Advanced Rigging, Slinging, and Banksman
  • Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S) Alive
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS 2015)
  • Offshore Safety Regulatory Awareness
  • Fall Protection
  • Confined Space Entry
  • Emergency First Aid
