Job description: A biotechnology company in Cambridge are looking for a bioinformatician to join their fledgling team.In this exciting new role, you will be developing complex bioinformatic algorithms that will have a direct effect on the company’s future research and development programmes and current products, which are the perfect blend between science and engineering.You will be utilising your software skills to design and develop sequencing tools and algorithms which will integrate with lab systems and support tools, as well as searching for and validating open-source bioinformatics tools.You will also build an understanding of user lab processes and workflows and help develop cloud-based workflows to support the biology and chemistry research teams.This is a great opportunity to join a company and make a real difference with your knowledge and experience, leading bioinformatics projects from day one.We are looking for scientists who have developed code in Python coupled with experience in the bioinformatics field. This will be complemented by an engineering or science related degree and experience with cloud computing.
