Job description: Position Title: Agronomy Variety Coordinator CEPosition Type: Regular – Full-Time ​Position Location: HarnesRequisition ID: 30260We are looking for our new Agronomy Variety Coordinator Europe (CE) to join our Agronomy (Ag)organization at McCain. In a context of growing economic, climate volatility and increased competition, we can strengthen our value proposition by providing a service on agricultural insights by registering as an expert in agriculture and a leader in the agroecological transition.You will be responsible for selecting best varieties adapted to McCain businesses and implementing the research work for new variety field and storage management optimization.You will report to the Agronomy Variety Lead CE. This position will be based in either Harnes, France or Lewedorp, the Netherlands.Key responsibilities:You coordinate the variety selection for CE:– You propose and conduct dedicated research for variety selection and management profiles improvement– You synthesize results for each country and informs management– You analyze varieties behaviors from field to test run in plant– You establish/update profile management of each variety– You synchronize the trials with the Agronomy R&D Innovation coordinator– You improve proceduresYou build strong relationships with Seed breeders:You promote McCain ideotypeYou contribute to develop and deploy global tools related to Ag Digitalization Global Strategy (Variety Data Management VDM and Variety Assessment Tool VAT)You gather and analyse data from trials (supported by the Agronomy data scientist) to study the profile of each variety and make decision on future varieties.You safeguard and strengthen McCain variety expertise and knowledge by:– Participating in technical working groups– Receiving training & data from his n-1You support extension:You are involved in field representative trainingQualifications:

  • You have a master’s degree in agriculture or agronomy and excellent potato knowledge (growing practices, storing, economics, diseases, genomic, varieties developed regionally and globally).
  • You have a basic knowledge of statistics and crop trial designing.
  • You are data-driven, processing data value as regard of our businesses.
  • You are an excellent relationship builder, to build sustainable relationships with the customers (internal & external).
  • You have strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders in a multicultural environment.
  • You have excellent oral and written communications skills across all levels of the organization, and strong written and spoken English skills.
  • French would be a plus.
