Job description: What success looks like in this role:We are seeking an experienced Senior Wintel & Virtualization Engineer (7+ years’ experience) to join our IT Operations team based in Rhodes reporting to the IT Operations Manager. You will be an allrounder who can install, manage, and monitor Wintel & Virtualization Infrastructure comprising physical hardware, virtual machines, hypervisors, storage and backup as well as being strong on the Wintel technologies that provide supporting infrastructure services such as AD, Exchange, RDS which cater to our financial services client needs in this environment.This role also requires someone who is proactive, has strong automation and scripting abilities as well as a proven experience in thoroughly documenting processes and procedures that can be re-used by others.There is an afterhours and on call responsibility as part of this role; roughly be once every 3 weeks & a on call allowance will be paid out over and above the base salary. This is a permanent employment opportunity with Unisys Australia Pty Ltd based in Rhodes, Sydney.The working model is a hybrid flexible one – 3 days in the office and rest remotely full time. Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents only at this point of time due to the nature of the work and end client/account requirement.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Proactively monitor the Wintel & Virtualization Environment, respond to incidents & requests promptly and resolve within SLAs.Build, Manage, Support and upgrade Wintel systems including AD, Exchange, Terminal Services, Networker Backups.Build, Deploy, Manage, Monitor and Support Nutanix, VMWare, Windows Servers and associated services and applications.Manage incident, changes, and problems through Jira.Perform RCA of incidents and work towards permanent resolution.Ensure regular platform, system, and application upgrades to maintain compliance and security obligations.Proactively contribute to enhancements, innovation and automation thereby improving the business value and quality of the IT platform overall.Provide technical expertise for ongoing development and management of the Infrastructure Platform and supporting services, ensuring best practices are followed and maintained.Ensure technical documentation is updated and maintained to a high standard for all platforms, services and applications in confluence.Adhere to incident, problem and change management processes.Completion of allocated project work within agreed timeframes.Enhance existing processes and practices through automation.Perform application deployment releases into UAT and Production environments.Manage source code, ensure version control and SDLC processes are followed.Being in the financial services industry, adherence to our security and compliance procedures including timely completion of all required training is critical.SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Ensure ITIL practices are followed.Ensure best practice security and configuration is applied to all activities.Ensure that all deliverables are completed accurately and on time.On call and afterhours work will be required.
